Karin Bilyard, DVM

Dr. Bilyard joined PPVS part-time in 2017 and now continues to provide relief services to PPVS.  A native of Elgin, IL, she received her Bachelor of Zoology degree from North Carolina State University. In 2007, she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from Purdue University. She then commissioned into the United States Army Veterinary Corps in 2007 and served on active duty until 2014. Her assignments in the Army included tours in the U.S., South America, and throughout Europe. She currently serves as a Major in the U.S. Army Veterinary Reserve Corps.

Dr. Bilyard’s career has focused on providing full service veterinary care to military working dogs and service members’ pets across the globe. She has enjoyed providing care to military families but is excited finally settle in one location and begin a new career path with Partners and Paws Veterinary Services. Dr. Bilyard is passionate about small animal dentistry and working dog management.

Dr. Bilyard is married to a Navy veteran who currently teaches high school mathematics. They have two sons, 5 and 2, (and an infant daughter!) which keeps them busy in Cub Scouts and year round sports. They also share their home with a retired military working dog and one cat. Their family enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors and activities with their close families.
