Noninvasive Insight with Pet Ultrasound
Ultrasonography, or ultrasound, is a safe and pain-free imaging technique that uses sound waves to visualize your pet’s internal organs. It’s commonly used to examine the heart, kidneys, liver, gallbladder, bladder, and reproductive system. Ultrasound can help detect fluid buildup, tumors, cysts, abscesses, or even confirm and monitor pregnancy.
This diagnostic tool is often used in combination with radiographs (x-rays) to give us a complete picture of your pet’s health. It does not involve radiation, has no known side effects, and rarely requires sedation—though we may need to shave the fur over the area being examined for best results.
Ultrasound interpretation requires expertise, and our experienced team is here to provide a clear, accurate diagnosis in a calm and supportive environment. If you have questions about what to expect, we're always happy to walk you through the process.

Specialized Diagnostics with Endoscopy
Partners and Paws is pleased to offer endoscopic procedures right here at our Lisle location. Endoscopy is a minimally invasive technique that allows our doctors to view internal organs and, when needed, collect biopsy samples—all without traditional surgery.
Endoscopy is frequently used to examine the esophagus, stomach, intestines, bladder, colon, nasal passages, and airways. It’s also an effective method for retrieving swallowed objects and supporting minimally invasive surgical procedures. In some cases, it can even help prevent serious issues, like bloat, through procedures such as preventative gastropexy for at-risk dogs.
We offer several types of endoscopy, including:
- Endoscopy – Exam of the esophagus, stomach, and upper intestines
- Colonoscopy – Exam of the large bowel, colon, and rectum
- Rhinoscopy – Exam of the nasal cavity and nasopharynx
- Bronchoscopy – Exam of the lower airways
All endoscopic procedures are performed under general anesthesia. Your pet’s safety is our top priority—we follow strict protocols and continuously monitor vital signs from start to finish.
Additionally, Dr. Newman is available to perform endoscopic procedures at other veterinary hospitals that may not have the necessary equipment, helping to make this advanced care more accessible across our community.
